ChatGPT and Housecall Pro
Yes. ChatGPT works with Housecall Pro in the Codex tab of the ChatGPT desktop app on a Mac, on any Housecall Pro plan, including Basic and Essentials. Normal ChatGPT chat and the ChatGPT phone app are not supported.

The same assistant that runs in Claude also runs in the Codex tab of the ChatGPT desktop app. It uses the normal Housecall Pro screens, so it works on any Housecall Pro plan. After you buy, your setup page gives you one line to paste into Terminal. It installs everything inside your home folder and needs no admin password. Mac only for now.

Any Housecall Pro plan, Mac or Windows
Claude desktop app
The assistant installs in the Claude desktop app on your Mac or Windows computer and works Housecall Pro in a browser window you sign in to yourself, the way you would. Because it uses the normal Housecall Pro screens, it works on any Housecall Pro plan.
What you can ask it
- “What is on Tuesday's schedule, and who is assigned to each job?”
- “Which estimates did we send last month that were never approved?”
- “Find the job on Elm Street and add a note that the part is on order.”
- “Create an estimate for a water heater replacement for this customer.”
- “Which invoices are still unpaid from more than 30 days ago?”
Every change, like a new customer, job, estimate, note or reschedule, waits for you to say yes first.

Paste the line into Terminal
Open Terminal on your Mac, paste the line and press Return. It installs everything inside your home folder, so it needs no admin password.

Open the ChatGPT desktop app, switch to the Codex tab and ask about your customers, jobs or schedule in plain English.
You need: A Mac, the ChatGPT desktop app signed in to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, and your own Housecall Pro login. Any Housecall Pro plan works.

Does ChatGPT work with Housecall Pro?
Yes, in the Codex tab of the ChatGPT desktop app on a Mac, on any Housecall Pro plan. Housecall Pro has not built a ChatGPT app. The Housecall Pro assistant works the normal Housecall Pro screens, so Basic and Essentials work too. Normal ChatGPT chat and the ChatGPT phone app are not supported.
Do I need the Housecall Pro MAX plan to use ChatGPT?
No. The assistant uses the normal Housecall Pro screens, so any plan works. Housecall Pro's own API comes with the MAX plan only, so tools built on that API, including community connectors, need MAX and an Admin to create a key. This assistant does not use the API, so it works on any plan.
Which ChatGPT plan do I need?
For the Codex tab: A Mac, the ChatGPT desktop app signed in to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu, and your own Housecall Pro login. Any Housecall Pro plan works. Those are the plans OpenAI lists with the desktop app features this uses.
How do I set it up in ChatGPT?

Does it work on Windows?
Not in ChatGPT yet. The ChatGPT route is Mac only for now. On a Windows computer, use the Claude desktop app, which works on any Housecall Pro plan.
Can I use it in normal ChatGPT chat or on my phone?
No. Normal ChatGPT chat and the ChatGPT phone app are not supported. The assistant runs on your computer, in the Claude desktop app or in the Codex tab of the ChatGPT desktop app on a Mac.
Can it change things in my account without asking?
Every change, like a new customer, job, estimate, note or reschedule, waits for you to say yes first. Reading is always fine; anything that creates, changes, sends, charges or deletes waits for your yes.
